Grounding and Frequency Matching

I think we hear this quite a bit - GROUNDING. Especially around this time of year, especially when the world is in turmoil (like when is it not?).

What, exactly, does this mean?

There are lots of answers. The most impactful one, I’d wager, is the way you answer it yourself.

My answer?

In this lifetime we are human and we need to feel not only connected to but established in, comfortable with, our humanness.

It is as humans we can best adjust and upgrade the human world (duh, right?).

I think for a lot of us being human is frightening. Not every aspect, and there are infinite gradients, but think of your fears. It’s scary to feel the intensity of our feelings, it’s scary to say what’s been on our mind, it’s scary to go on our own or try something new, it’s scary to walk into an unknown situation, it’s scary to be vulnerable enough to forge meaningful relationships, it’s scary to believe and act on our inner voice when we finally hear it.

So we fight the fears off. The methods are plentiful, but the point is the same. We avoid being the human that we are.

Grounding is a connection point. A doorway. A portal. Full access human.

It’s a place, in a sense.

Where we can observe and gain understanding for the mechanistic part of our humanity - the belief systems, the doubt, the cynicism, the hopes, the dreams. We find origins and sources, the pin pricks in spacetime that poked a hole in the free-flowing relationship between soul and body/mind/BEING in this lifetime.

While some things will be cleared in time, it is in the simple recognition of these moments, these blips, that transforms them from blockade to mild irritant. Like a booger maybe. They become something to manage as they need to be managed, but they no longer inhibit the closeness and entrenched relationship we have with ourselves.

It’s a process, and it’s meant to be continuous. This doesn’t mean constant. We pulse. We forget, we remember, we’re high energy, we’re low energy, we’re excited, we can't be bothered, etc.

We tend to ground, or root ourselves to ourselves, most effectively through the metaphor of our home, the earth. This material existence we are all an embedded collective part of. This is why grounding can be so soothing and calming - its connection and closeness and intimacy when from the day we are born we are wounded with severance and separation.

The more we visit, so to speak, the easier it is to get there.

Critically, this place isn’t a location.

This place is a frequency.

The more we feel it, and remember the feeling of it, the easier it is to frequency match and attune to the sensory experience of it anywhere, anytime (not just when the circumstances are perfect and we are meditating in absolute silence with a candle lit and no one else is home and the animals are quietly sleeping and we’re not too hungry but also not too full and our lips aren’t chapped and we had a peaceful morning to get the mood right - I totally haven’t made all of these demands of myself before journeying [just kidding, I totally have]).

This is an evolution in our energetic capacity, and everyone can access it with practice - it’s not only for the “special” people.

So get outside, even to the dirt/snow/mud patch that is your tiny plot, or stare out the window, or imagine you’re floating in a lake against the backdrop of trees and mountains. FEEL IT, and KEEP FEELING IT.

Keep on doing the things. Love to you.
